A Delhi resident and his friend had to jump out of a burning Mercedes CLA after it crashed close to the F1 racing track in Greater Noida on the outskirts of Delhi.

Soon after the accident, the men informed the police. The fire engines were able to control the blaze.

The car belonged to Nikhil Chaudhary, who was driving the vehicle at the time of the incident. He had to suddenly swerve on the road to avoid an animal that came in front and in the process lost control over the vehicle. The car hit the side kerb on the road and went up in flames.

"Soon the car caught fire, and we had to escape from one of the windows," said Mr Chaudhary.

Owners of high-end cars and sports motorcycles usually come at the Buddh International Circuit, India's only Formula 1 race track to enjoy high-speed rides on Sunday.

Mr Chaudhary lamented that he had bought the car for Rs 1 crore merely 10 days ago and now it was completely burnt.
