Delhi shivers as winter turns chillier

<p>
Delhi recorded this winter’s coldest morning so far on Sunday with the minimum temperature plunging 4.6 degrees Celsius as cold wave swept north India, according to India Meteorological Department.</p>
<p>
The maximum temperature is expected hover around 18 degrees Celsius in the national capital with a clear sky.  </p>
<p>
The minimum temperatures were below normal at many places in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and Chandigarh as well, according to the IMD bulletin this morning.</p>
<p>
IMD had on Saturday predicted cold wave and severe cold wave conditions over northwest India during the next three days, after which the weather is expected to turn better.</p>
<p>
On Saturday the national capital had recorded a minimum temperature of six degrees Celsius. A "cold day" is one when the minimum temperature falls to 10 degrees Celsius or below and the maximum temperature is at least 4.5 degrees Celsius below normal, according to IMD terminology. </p>
