The India Meteorological Department or IMD has predicted thunderstorms with heavy to very heavy intensity rain in Delhi and its adjoining areas.
IMD has issued an orange alert for the national capital which is a warning for extremely bad weather with the potential of disruption in commute with road and drain closures and the possibility of power outages.
The IMD has warned of traffic disruption due to waterlogging of roads and urged citizens to follow traffic advisories and avoid going to areas such as underpasses that frequently get flooded during heavy rain.
