<p>
Delhi was cloaked in a dense fog on Monday morning with the temperature at 10.5 degrees Celsius at 7 am amid the cold wave sweeping the northern states in the country.</p>
<p>
India Meteorological Department (IMD) said the maximum temperature is not expected to exceed 14.9 degrees Celsius.</p>
<p>
The IMD said that northwest India is expected to witness another cold spell from January 24 onwards, owing to several western disturbances that caused heavy rainfall in northern plains and snowfall in the hills.</p>

Shimla the capital of Himachal Pradesh was covered by a thick snow.</p>
<p>
The weather department has predicted isolated or scattered light rainfall for Delhi today which will be the third wet day in the national capital in a row.</p>
<p>
Dense fog conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan during next two days and cold day conditions over these areas on January 24.</p>
