In a heart-warming gesture to Rishabh Pant, who is still recovering from injuries in a ghastly car crash, Delhi Capitals hung the former team captain’s jersey on their dugout during the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 match against Lucknow Super Giants in Lucknow on Saturday.
The Delhi Capitals management has said that it would keep the star wicketkeeper-batsman close to the proceedings in recognition of his contribution and team spirit. Pant too has said that he would try to come for the home matches of the team.
Australian opener David Warner, who earlier played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, has replaced Rishabh as captain.
Pant has been posting videos and messages on his road to recovery and has recently appeared for a commercial ad as well.
