Cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, Shikhar Dhawan donate funds to import oxygen machines

India’s cricketing great Sachin Tendulkar and leading batsman Shikhar Dhawan have decided to contribute Rs 1 crore and Rs 20 lakh respectively to procure more oxygen concentrators for Covid-19 patients.<br />

Tendulkar’s donation of Rs 1 crore to ‘Mission Oxygen’ in its endeavour to procure and provide life-saving oxygen concentrators to hospitals across the nation in this time of need is incredibly heart-warming,” read a statement from Mission Oxygen, which is a fund-raising initiative by Delhi-NCR based entrepreneurs for importing the machines and donating them to hospitals in need.<br />

Shikhar Dhawan will donate Rs 20 lakh and "money from all post-match individual performance awards" that he receives during Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 towards "Mission Oxygen", a group of entrepreneurs working on importing oxygen concentrators and donating them to<br />
hospitals battling Covid-19.</p>
