The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has joined hands with the Defence Ministry to launch a virtual museum that commemorates India's war heroes. On the corporate side, the Society of Indian Defence Manufacturers (SIDM) is also part of this unique initiative.
The new enterprise docks well with the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav, celebrating 75 years of India's Independence.
Defence Secretary, Ajay Kumar, firmed up the project with SIDM President, Jayant D Patil in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The Gallantry awards portal will be hosting this museum on https://www.gallantryawards.gov.in/).
Planned as a 3D walk-through experience through a Gallery Building, Wall of Fame, an Awardee Gallery with their photos and profiles. War Memorials and The War Room, which is an auditorium hosting the tales of bravery is part of the project

Besides, the virtual museum will also include a range of animation videos bringing to life the stories of bravery, courage and gallantry of the war heroes–an obvious attempt to fire the imagination of millennials and generation-Z.
Detailing the project, the Defence Secretary said the initiative will contribute in bringing to life the heroic deeds of the winners of the gallantry awards and acknowledge their immense contribution and indomitable spirit in securing the nation from internal and external threats.
At the same time, it would allow the grateful nation to pay homage to the country’s brave hearts, he observed.
