The twin cities of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad topped the list of Indian cities in Ease of Moving in 2022, closely followed by Mumbai and Coimbatore, according to the latest Ola Mobility Institute (OMI) Foundation’s Ease of Moving Index report.
Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Indore come next in the list of 40 Indian cities ranked on the basis of public transport facilities available to residents.
The list was based on a survey of more than 50,000 citizens, government data and discussions with experts.
Other highlights of the report:
*Mumbaikars are among the lowest spenders on transport per month.
*Public transport reliability in Bengaluru has increased from 30% in 2018 to 39% in 2022.
*Chennai has among the best cycling infrastructures in India
*Kolkata has the highest adoption of shared mobility.
*Ahmedabad has the highest willingness to adopt electric vehicles.
*The report also said that public transport usage among women is the highest in Ludhiana.
*Aizawl in Mizoram emerged as a top performer in clean mobility.
