Even as the Centre decided to postpone CBSE Class 12 Boards examinations, thousands of students appearing for board exams through other state boards besides the Indian School Certificate (ISC)—conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate and International Baccalaureate(IB) among others continue to face uncertainty. A decision for ICSE and ISC students is yet to be taken.

“No decision has been taken yet for the ISC students. It is scary to be holding exams physically now for children who are getting affected by the new strain of the virus,” a parent said, adding that often the not so prominent examination boards do not get adequate attention.

“But we are hopeful that a decision similar to what CBSE has taken, will be taken for ICSE exams too,” the parent said.

Meanwhile, IB according to reports will go in for a dual mode of assessment. According to a report by The Print IB will hold examinations wherever possible while maintaining safety but in places “where they can’t be held, an alternative route of internal assessments and teacher-predicted grades will be adopted.”

A teacher said that the dual mode of assessment often leads to panic among students.
