The CBI has summoned Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal for questioning in the liquor excise policy scam case that has landed former minister Manshi Sisodia in jail.
According to sources, Kejriwal is likely to be questioned on April 16 as part of follow-up investigations in the case as the decision to open the retail sale of liquor in Delhi to private players for the first time was taken by his cabinet.
Reacting to the summons, Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh said on Twitter that he will be holding a press conference at 6 pm on the issue.
BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya told CNN-News18 that it is natural for Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to be summoned by the CBI in the alleged liquor scam since his cabinet member, Manish Sisodia, is already in jail in connection with the case. As the Chief Minister, Kejriwal is responsible for all the decisions taken by his cabinet.
Malviya said the law must take its course one has to wait for the investigation to unfold.
