Samajwadi Party leader Devendra Singh Yadav's car was hit by a huge truck and dragged for about 500 metres on the road before coming to a stop at Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh.

The incident that took place late on Sunday night has been captured on video.
As soon as the vehicle stopped, many people present on the road rushed to the spot to rescue the Samajwadi Party leader.
Mr Yadav is the district president the party’s Mainpuri unit and was returning home from the party office.
