Captured on Camera: YSR Telangana chief YS Sharmila slaps police official in Hyderabad

YS Sharmila, chief of YSR Telangana Party and sister of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, was detained today after she assaulted police personnel during a protest in Hyderabad.

Ms Sharmila was stopped by police on her way to the office of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the alleged leak of question papers for exams conducted by the state government to select candidates for filling job vacancies.

Videos shared by news agency ANI show police personnel trying to stop Ms Sharmila’s car as it approaches the SIT office. After the vehicle stops, she walks up to a policeman and slaps him after which she pushes the official. A heated argument then breaks out between the officer and Ms Sharmila and other police personnel try to take her away.

In another video, Ms Sharmila is seen pushing a police woman away as the cops try to prevent her from moving to the SIT office.
