The BJP is headed for a landslide victory in Gujarat and is ahead of the Congress in Himachal as leads came in from the counting of votes which began this morning for the assembly elections in the two states.
The BJP is leading in as many as 105 seats in Gujarat with the Congress leading in only 44 seats and AAP managing to secure a lead in merely 7 constituencies. Leads from 156 of the 182 constituencies had come in by 8.45 am.
In the Himachal assembly elections, the BJP was leading in 27 constituencies while the Congress was leading in 29 constituencies with others ahead in 5 seats. AAP has not managed to secure a lead in any assembly segment till now. Leads for 59 of the 68 assembly constituencies had come in by 8.45 am.
