Another Pak based terror kingpin steering “Kashmir Jihad” killed

Syed Noor Shalobar was killed in Pakistan

Unknown gunmen have killed Syed Noor Shalobar, who was involved in steering terror in Kashmir, making him the third  target of assassination inside Pakistan.

Shalobar was killed in the Bara area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, bordering Afghanistan.

The others who have been killed in serial assassinations, include the kingpin of the Al Badr group, Syed Khalid Raza, who was targeted in Karachi last Sunday.

Earlier on February 21, Bashir Ahmad Peer alias Imtiaz Alam of the Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) was shot dead in an identical manner by unidentified gunmen around his residence in Rawalpindi – the headquarters of the Pakistani Army.

Similarly, on February 14, one of top Islamic State (IS) terrorists Aijaz Ahmad Ahangar was reportedly killed by the Taliban in the Kunar Province of Afghanistan.

The spate of killings is expected to unsettle the Pak-based terrorists targeting Kashmir, who would naturally question whether Pakistan will continue to remain a safe-haven for their activities.

Hizbul Mujahideen’s ‘Launching Chief’, Peer along with Ahangar  had joined militancy in early 1990s and had lived in Afghanistan and Pakistan for nearly 30 years. They were over 50 years old and had a high profile in terrorist ranks. Both had been designated as individual terrorists by the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) respectively on 5 January, 2023, and 4 October, 2022.
