CANDIGARH: Another three Hindu girls were abducted in the Sindh state of Pakistan by Muslim desperadoes last week and forced to marry them after they were converted to Islam.
According to media reports emanating from Sindh, Guddi Kolhi, Ria Bheel, and Rekha Kolhi were abducted and converted to Islam. They have been married to their kidnappers at a local ‘Dargah’ (Mosque).
Guddi Kolhi, a resident of Sagir colony in Mirpur Khas township was abducted at gunpoint by one Gul Rahim and taken to Pir Bharchundi Sharif Dargah where she was married to her kidnapper in the presence of so-called Sufi Pir Ayub Jaan Sirhandi.
Ria Bheel, a mother of three children and daughter of Nazir Bheel residing in Garibabad town of Kandhkot district was kidnapped by Ali Hassan Lashori Baloch. She was converted and married to her abductor by the mullahs.
A minor Rekha Kolhi resident of Kunri Shehar township was kidnapped by an already-married Muslim man three times her age whose name could not be immediately known.
Advocate Sarwan Kumar based in Sindh has taken up the matter with the National Human Rights Conference and sought protection for the Hindu minority.
He also raised the issue of another Hindu girl Chanda who was abducted a few months ago by Shaman Magsi Baloch. She was recovered by the police from Karachi and sent to a women’s protection home where she recorded her statement against her kidnapper seeking punishment for him. Even after being raped repeatedly for a number of days, Chanda refused to get converted to Islam.
The horrifying incidents come close on the heels of the abduction of three Hindu girls in Sindh on October 17 which shows that such abductions of girls from the minority community are continuing unabated in Pakistan.
There are around 40 lakh Hindus living in Sindh.
