A 10-year-old boy in Karnataka today after his teacher threw him off the first-floor balcony of the government-run school in a fit of rage.
The police said Muthappa, the teacher at Adarsh Primary School at Hagli village in northern Karnataka, first thrashed the Class 4 boy, Bharat, with a shovel and then flung him down from the first-floor of the school.
Muthappa had even beaten up Bharat’s mother, Gita Barker, who is also a teacher at the school. She is undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
The man, who was a contract employee, is absconding after the horrific act.
Shivprakash Devaraju, a senior police officer told journalists, “The reason is not clear at the moment, but prima facie it looks like some family issues among them”.
A similar incident was reported from a school in Delhi last week when an angry teacher had thrown down a Class 5 girl from the first-floor classroom in a government school.
