The 'Air Gun Surrender Campaign' of the Arunachal Pradesh government will be launched across the country with retired forest workers and representatives of social organisations being roped in for the same.

This was announced by Minister of State for Forest, Environment and Climate Change, Ashwini Kumar Choubey after several people surrendered their air guns at an event he attended in Itanagar today.

Appealing to the people to not hunt animals and birds, Choubey lauded Arunachal government's Forest and Environment Minister Mama Natung for the gun surrender campaign.

He said that the important initiative to save animals and birds from poaching and for their conservation is giving very positive results.

Not requiring any license, many people in the country hunt birds through their traditional and sophisticated air guns in every district and village of the country.
