Actress Tunisha Sharma dies on set, co-star Sheezan Khan arrested

Actress Tunisha Sharma died allegedly by suicide on the set of a TV serial in Vasai near Mumbai on Saturday and her co-star, Sheezan Mohammed Khan, has been charged with abetment to suicide in the case.

The 20-year-old actress went to the washroom on the set and did not come out for a long time. The door was then broken open and she was found hanging inside.

Tunisha was rushed to hospital where she was declared dead.

The actress was shooting for her TV show, Ali Baba: Dastaan-E-Kabul. Tunisha was reportedly in a relationship with Sheejan Khan before she broke up with him.

Khan has been arrested and booked under section 306 (abetment to suicide) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) on Tunisha’s mother’s complaint. However, the police is probing all angles.

Tunisha started her career as a child actor. She shared the screen with stars like Katrina Kaif and Vidya Balan. Tunisha made her debut with Fitoor, where she played the younger Katrina Kaif and again played the same role in Baar Baar Dekho. She shared the screen with Vidya Balan in Kahaani 2. Tunisha was also a popular face on TV and was a part of shows like Internet Wala Love, Ishq Subhallah and Sher-E-Punjab: Maharaja Ranjit Singh.
