23-year-old man dives from bridge into flooded river in Maharashtra but fails to surface as stunt goes wrong

A 23-year-old man from Malegaon in Maharshtra has gone missing after he dived from a bridge into an overflowing river in an act of bravado. The incident occurred in Maharashtra's Malegaon yesterday.</p>
<p>
A video of the stunt dive that went horribly wrong has gone viral on social media. It shows the man diving into the Girna river which is spate due to torrential rains and after that he does not surface as expected. There are other men on the bridge watching him perform the act.</p>

Authorities searched for the man, Naeem Amin, late till Thursday night, but were unable to find him.</p>
<p>
Several districts in Maharashtra have been witnessing heavy rains for over a week. The weather department has issued a red alert for Pune, Nashik, and three other districts as heavy rainfall is expected to continue in the region. </p>
