Gurugram: In a major crackdown against crime, Haryana police nabbed 10 sharpshooters of the Lawrence Bishnoi and Goldy Brar gangs on Thursday.
The gangsters were caught while they were trying to execute a crime posing as cops in Gurugram. The police seized four pistols, 28 live cartridges, two vehicles (a Scorpio and a Honda City), and seven police uniforms from their possession. One of these vehicles was reportedly stolen from Delhi.
Speaking to Indianarrative.com Gurugram ACP Crime Varun Dahiya said, “It is a major success as the gang was out to carry a dacoity worth crores. They were taking instructions directly from gang kingpins abroad. We got a tip off and several teams worked together to nab the accused. We expect to solve many cases in Haryana and Punjab with this arrest.”
The accused were identified as Rakesh Kumar alias Anil, Harjot Singh alias Leela, Ajay Isharwalia alias Punjabi, Prince alias Golu, Joginder alias Joga, Sandeep alias Deep, and Sinderpal alias Bittu. All seven accused were arrested from Bhondsi in Gurugram while they were plotting the crime. After interrogating them, three other companions named Dharmendra alias Dharma, Deepak alias Dilawar, and Bharat were also apprehended. The gang has confessed to acting on directives of gangsters Goldie Brar, Rohit Godara, and Veeru all of whom are hiding abroad.
During the interrogation, it was revealed that the arrested individuals were active shooters for Bishnoi and Brar gangs. They had come to Gurugram to carry out a major dacoity and abduction. Their plan involved disguising themselves as cops and they were carrying police uniforms of different ranks.
The arrested gangsters have multiple cases registered against them in the past including robbery, dacoity, attempted murder, theft, assault, possession of illegal weapons etc. These cases have been filed in various districts of Haryana, including Bhiwani, Panchkula, Sirsa, Ambala, Gurugram as well as Mohali (Punjab), and Rajasthan. The team was being led by Jogendra alias Joga who is a close associate of Bishnoi Brar duo. Hailing from Bhiwani he has more than 15 charges against him, including robbery, dacoity, attempted murder, and extortion. Jogendra has been to jail multiple times and served a five-year sentence in Ambala jail from 2017 to October 2021. During his stay in Patiala jail, he met Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang members and after that he became an active member of this gang.
