Training for caregivers for senior citizens and specially-abled organised in Hyderabad

It is no easy task to be a caregiver for senior citizens, the specially-abled and those who are recuperating from surgery or illness like Covid-19. While one may be inclined to be an efficient caregiver, many times exhaustion overcomes us and so training in this field is vital.

Providing a sound grounding in caregiving, a Hyderabad-based non-government organisation Dobara Cares is organising a 90-hour certified course slated to begin next week.

To start from September 19, this six-week programme will provide comprehensive training on caregiving. Sharing details on the initiative, Tyaba Bilgrami, a soft skills trainer said: “Everyone during the circle of life will need a caregiver or may need caregiving. Most of us are indulged in work and barely get any time for caregiving and the help we get is not enough for the ones who need to be taken care of.”

Giving details about the training, she added: “The programme includes soft skills training, bedside manners and basics of nursing care provided by experienced trainers from Nursing schools and experts in the field of service and communications.”

The course is useful for those who wish to take up caregiving as a career and for youngsters, active seniors, and individuals wishing to be primary caregivers for their family or friends.
