Tamilisai Soundarajan, who was a practicing gynaecologist before she entered politics, responded to the request of the cabin crew for any doctor on board the flight to handle the emergency as the IPS officer was suffering from breathlessness and sweating.
The Governor immediately came forward and administered the required medicine to stabilise the patient.
Additional Director General of Police Kripanand Tripathi Ujela, a 1994-batch Andhra Pradesh cadre IPS officer, is now undergoing treatment in a Hyderabad hospital after being diagnosed with dengue fever.
"Madam Governor saved my life. Otherwise, I could not have made it to the hospital," Ujela told PTI over phone from Hyderabad on Saturday.
