<strong>Lending a helping hand to the State in its battle against the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic in Karnataka, students there have come up with a novel idea! Waiting for their examinations, a group of them have started a free tele-clinic for people having Coronavirus symptoms.</strong></p>
<p>
The State Committee of the student organisation All India Democratic Students Organisation started this free tele-clinic, called Hello Doctor, the virus affected persons, from May 22.</p>
<p>
Before launching this service, what the students group did was to rope in nearly 40 doctors and health experts for providing guidance. These doctors have agreed to work for free.</p>
<p>
Having firmed that, 10 student volunteers across the State have started spreading the word about the tele-consultation. This was informed to the New Indian Express by Vinay Chandra, the State Secretariat Member and Bangalore District Treasurer of the student organisation.</p>
<p>
Through the tele-consultation people will have access to guidance from experts for home isolation and primary treatment for Covid-19, along with counselling for those in distress.</p>
<p>
At the beginning, there will be two sessions of one hour each from Monday to Saturday. The timings are from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. For the Sundays, there will be three sessions of again one hour each. The timings for these sessions are, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., 12 noon to 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.</p>

In the State capital, Bengaluru, the Bangalore Student Community, a forum of more than 4,000 students has divided itself into several groups, with each working to help those in need of assistance concerning Covid-19. Besides this, they have an on-ground team with 100 members.</p>

To tackle the rising black fungus cases, the team is collaborating with medical students for health checkups. Informing this, Dhruv Jatti, president, BSC added, that the team is exploring a tech intervention for the registration of vaccination.</p>
