India’s daily count of fresh Covid-19 infections slows to 8-month low

The daily count of fresh Covid-19 cases in the country has come down to 10,423 which is the lowest in the last 259 days, while the total number of active cases in the country has declined to 153,776, the lowest in 250 days, according to the Union Health Ministry data updated on Tuesday morning.</p>

The of number of deaths due to Covid-19 were put at 443 nationwide.</p>
<p>
While this has brought some cheer in the run-up to Diwali, the authorities are keeping their fingers crossed as huge crowds thronging markets in the festive season pose a risk of coronavirus infections surging again.</p>

Meanwhile, with the administration of 52,39,444 vaccine doses in the last 24 hours, India’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage has surpassed 106.85 crore shots as per provisional reports till 7 am on Tuesday.</p>
