Himachal becomes India’s first state to give at least one vaccine shot to all adults

Himachal Pradesh has become the first state in the country to administer at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to its entire adult population, the state government claims.</p>
<p>
State health minister Dr. Rajiv Saizal said , "the state has completed 100 per cent first dose vaccinations in the 18 plus age group and it aims to complete 100 per cent vaccination of both the doses by November 30, 2021."</p>
<p>
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has appreciated the efforts of the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh in the management of the Covid-19 pandemic as well as carrying out the vaccination drive.</p>
<p>
The health minister also said the state would organize a special virtual event where PM Modi would interact with the beneficiaries and healthcare workers of the state government.</p>
<p>
Meanwhile, the total number of Covid-19 vaccination shots that have been administered in the entire country has crossed the 63 crore mark. More than half of India’s adult population has now received at least one dose while around 15% have got both the shots, according to data compiled by the union health ministry.</p>
<p>
The minister said that in case any people were left out of the vaccination count, the government would look into the issue and they would also be vaccinated.</p>
