The Arvind Kejriwal government on Friday will issue COVID-19 guidelines for schools as the daily count of fresh coronavirus cases rose to a 42-day high in the national capital.</p>

The development also comes in the wake of a teacher and a student of a private school in South Delhi testing positive for COVID-19, after which all the other students in the same class were sent home.</p>
<p>
Schools in the national capital were re-opened from April 1 after as the number of COVID-19 cases had come down in the capital and the restrictions to contain the spread of coronavirus were lifted.</p>

On Wednesday the education department of the Delhi government had issued a circular that &ldquo;the wing of a school or the school as a whole should be shut&rdquo; if COVID cases are detected.</p>

Delhi on Thursday reported 325 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a case positivity rate of 2.39 per cent. There was an increase in COVID-19 cases compared to Wednesday when 299 new COVID-19 cases were recorded with a daily positivity rate of 2.49 per cent. The increase in the daily count of COVID-19 had in Delhi jumped by close to 50% on Wednesday which has come as a setback.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

However, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said there &quot;COVID cases have slightly increased but there is no rise in hospitalisation, so we need not worry. There is no need to panic but stay alert. Since COVID is there, we have to learn to live with it. We are constantly monitoring the situation. A general guideline will be introduced for schools.&rdquo;</p>
