The daily count of fresh Covid-19 cases in India has surged to a five-month high of 2,151 in the last 24 hours, Union Health Ministry data showed on Wednesday.
The number of active coronavirus cases in the country has increased to 11,903, according to the official figures.
Seven deaths have been reported due to Covid-19. Three deaths were registered in Maharashtra, another three in Kerala and one in Karnataka.
While daily cases in Maharashtra more than doubled on Tuesday in comparison with Monday’s tally, cases in Delhi crossed the 200 mark for the first time since September last year.
