The daily count of fresh Covid-19 cases in Delhi surged past the 2,000 mark for the first time after six months on Wednesday, with five patients reported dead due to coronavirus.
According to the daily bulletin shared by the health department, the national capital recorded a single-day rise of 2,073 cases on Wednesday with a positivity rate of 11.64 per cent. This is the highest since January 24 when it was 11.79 per cent.
According to doctors, the number of cases may be rising as the efficacy of vaccines has come down. There is a need for people to be more careful and start following Covid-appropriate behaviour again by wearing masks and keeping a safe social distance.
