COVID-19 positivity rate jumps to 7.72% in Delhi

Delhi's COVID-19 positivity rate on Monday jumped to 7.72 per cent while the city recorded over 500 fresh cases for the second day in a row, according to health department data.</p>
<p>
The national capital on Sunday recorded a 4.21 per cent positivity rate. The figure shows the number of cases that turn out to be Covid positive in each set of 100 tests that are carried.  </p>
<p>
Similarly, Covid cases have started rising in adjoining Gurugram and Noida areas of NCR and orders have been issued for the compulsory wearing of masks to contain the spread of coronavirus infections.</p>
<p>
The nationwide tally of daily COVID-19 cases had nearly doubled on Monday from the previous day to more than 2,000 for the first time in a month.</p>
<p>
A total of 6,492 COVID-19 tests were conducted the previous day, the bulletin stated on Monday, adding that a total of 1,188 Covid patients are under home isolation. </p>
