50% of all adults in India are now fully vaccinated, PM says momentum must be kept up

Prime Minister Narednra Modi on Monday said it was important to keep up the momentum as India’s vaccination drive crossed another important milestone with over 50% of the eligible population now being fully vaccinated. </p>
<p>
In response to a tweet by the Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, the Prime Minister said;</p>
<p>
"India’s vaccination drive crosses another important milestone. Important to keep this momentum to strengthen the fight against  COVID-19.</p>
<p>
And yes, keep following all other COVID-19 related protocols including masking up and social distancing."</p>
<p>
The Prime Minister Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for becoming the first state in the country to administer the second dose of Covid-19 to all its eligible citizens.</p>
<p>
In response to a tweet by Chief Minister Jairam Thakur, the Prime Minister said; "Many congratulations @jairamthakurbjp ji. In the fight against Covid-19, the people of Himachal have set an example in front of the entire country. This spirit of the people will give new strength to New India in the fight against the pandemic."</p>
<p>
As many as 53,86,393 eligible adults have been administered the second dose in  Himachal Pradesh. The state was also the first in the country to achieve the 100 percent first dose vaccination of the adult population by the end of August.</p>
