As many as 29.5 lakh beneficiaries in the 18 to 44 years age group received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday taking the total number vaccinated in this age group to 17.85 lakh across 30 States and UTs till now, according to a health ministry statement.</p>

The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country for all age groups shot past the 16.94 crore mark on Sunday as phase-3 of the nationwide vaccination drive expands further.</p>

Delhi leads in the vaccination for the under 45 age group with 3.01 lakh people having received their first dose till now, followed by Gujarat&nbsp; with 2.7 lakh and Haryana 2.3 lakh.</p>

The statement said the global community is extending a helping hand to support India&rsquo;s efforts to meet the challenges and requirements of the unprecedented surge in the number of COVID19 cases in the second wave of the global pandemic.</p>

The Union Government&nbsp; is ensuring that the aid to tackle coronavirus arriving from overseas is being effectively and promptly allocated and delivered to States and UTs to supplement their efforts during this critical phase.</p>
