17.85 lakh Indians in 18 to 44 years age group vaccinated as drive gathers pace

As many as 29.5 lakh beneficiaries in the 18 to 44 years age group received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine on Sunday taking the total number vaccinated in this age group to 17.85 lakh across 30 States and UTs till now, according to a health ministry statement.</p>
<p>
The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country for all age groups shot past the 16.94 crore mark on Sunday as phase-3 of the nationwide vaccination drive expands further.</p>
<p>
Delhi leads in the vaccination for the under 45 age group with 3.01 lakh people having received their first dose till now, followed by Gujarat  with 2.7 lakh and Haryana 2.3 lakh.</p>
<p>
The statement said the global community is extending a helping hand to support India’s efforts to meet the challenges and requirements of the unprecedented surge in the number of COVID19 cases in the second wave of the global pandemic.</p>
<p>
The Union Government  is ensuring that the aid to tackle coronavirus arriving from overseas is being effectively and promptly allocated and delivered to States and UTs to supplement their efforts during this critical phase.</p>
<p>
6,608 Oxygen Concentrators, 3,856 Oxygen Cylinders, 14 Oxygen Generation Plants, 4,330 ventilators and more than 3 lakh Remdesivir vials have been delivered so far.</p>
