Ola’s electric scooter hits market with Rs 1 lakh price tag

Ola Electric has launched its first electric vehicle, the Ola S1 electric scooter in two variants, with prices beginning at Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom) for the base S1 variant. The top-spec Ola S1 Pro variant has been priced at  Rs 1,29,999 (ex-showroom).</p>

The Ola S1 offers a top speed of 90 kmph with 121 km range and two riding modes, Normal and Sports. The top-spec Ola S1 Pro comes with a claimed top speed of 115 kmph with 181 km range, and three riding modes, Normal, Sports and Hyper. The S1 Pro gets additional features over the base S1 variant like Voice Control, Hill Hold and Cruise Control.</p>

OLA Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal said in n states that offer a subsidy for electric vehicles the price will come down. For instance, after state subsidy in Delhi, the S1 would cost just Rs 85,009 whereas in Gujarat it would be only Rs 79,000. “We have also tied up with banks and financial institutes for an EMI plan starting at Rs 2,999,” he added.</p>

“We will officially open Ola S1 for purchase from 8th September 2021, and will start delivering across 1000 cities and towns in October. Till then, Ola S1 is available for reservation at just Rs 499,” he said.</p>
