Mumbai airport makes it to world’s best 5 list

The Mumbai airport has been ranked in the fourth position in a readers’ survey of international airports by a leading American travel magazine.

Singapore Changi Airport, Dubai International Airport, Doha’s Hamad International Airport have been ranked as the first, second and third best respectively with Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea figuring at the 5th spot.

The readers of the Travel + Leisure magazine in the US rated international airports based on their access, check-in and security, restaurants and bars, shopping, and design.

“This recognition underscores Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport’s (CSMIA) unwavering commitment to constantly providing an exceptional travel experience to passengers along with world-class hospitality. CSMIA has left a lasting impression on travellers, earning its well-deserved spot on this esteemed list,” said an official press release by Mumbai airport.

Mumbai airport offers experiences that redefine modern air travel and also showcases and introduces Indian culture to passengers, it added.

“CSMIA now harbours travellers that desire longer layovers, as it strives to make abundant amenities available to them,” it said.

Travel + Leisure conducts the survey every year for the World’s Best Awards survey and seeks its readers’ opinion on top hotels, resorts, spas, cruise ships, and airlines.

Around 1,65,000 readers of the magazine participated in the survey this year, according to the press release.
