L&T dispatches world’s largest coke drums to Mexico

<p>
It is indeed a proud moment for India and its citizens as one of the leading private sector companies, Larsen & Toubro dispatched six of the “world’s largest coke drums” for a refinery project in Mexico. According to the Press release of the company, these drums were manufactured at the Heavy Engineering Complex division of the L&T located at Hazira near Surat.</p>
<p>
The weight of each of these drums is 658 tonnes and they were ordered by PTI Infraestructura de Desarrollo, (PTI-ID), which is a subsidiary of Mexico’s State-owned oil company PEMEX.</p>
<p>
According to the company, these units were manufactured during Covid-19 pandemic.</p>
<p>
Sharing his views with the Press, Anil V. Parab, Senior Vice President and Head Heavy Engineering said: “We thank PTI-ID for reposing faith in L&T for supplying world’s largest coke drums for such a prestigious project. It’s heartening to have lived up to the expectations of our client and deliver coke Drums on-time.”</p>
<p>
He added: “With this achievement, we surpass our own benchmark of supplying similar heavy Coke Drums for a client in the USA. We feel proud to have consistently dispatched the largest, heaviest and most complex equipment to our various global clients.”</p>
<p>
Dr. Leonardo Cornejo, Project Director of PTI-ID commented: “These coke drums are critical equipment for the refinery project of national importance to Mexico and we are glad to associate with L&T for manufacturing of the world’s largest coke drums.”</p>
