An IndiGo flight that took off from Bengaluru for Varanasi on Tuesday made an emergency landing at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad due to a technical problem in the plane.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation has confirmed that IndiGo Flight 6E897 from Bengaluru to Varanasi had to make an emergency landing at 6:15 am after diverting to Hyderabad. Officials have cited a “technical problem” for the diversion.
There were 137 passengers on board and all are safe, DGCA said.
An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, a senior official confirmed.
