<p>
Domestic and foreign airlines will operate around 930 daily flights on global routes as India has resumed scheduled international flights from today.</p>
<p>
Indian carriers have proposed 1,466 departures per week while foreign airlines have planned 1,783 flights per week, according to official data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).</p>
<p>
As many as 60 foreign airlines from 40 countries have been given approval to operate 1,783 frequencies to/from India during summer schedule 2022.</p>
<p>
This is around 25 per cent lower than the number of flights in pre-Covid period. In the winter schedule of 2019, airlines had operated around 1,200 international flights daily.</p>
<p>
Domestic airlines will operate flights to 43 destinations in 27 countries. IndiGo will have the largest number of departures per week at 505, followed by Air India with 361 and Air India Express at 340.</p>
<p>
Among foreign carriers, Emirates will have the highest number of flights at 170 per week.</p>
<p>
The government had announced earlier that scheduled international passenger flights would be resumed from March 27 after a ban of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.</p>
<p>
The system of air transport bubbles under which a limited number of international flights were being operated during the pandemic based on bilateral agreements will now be replaced by the regular scheduled flights.</p>
