A 24-year-old tribal woman delivered a baby boy in an ambulance as a wild elephant came out of the forest and blocked the road leading to the hospital in Erode district of Tamil Nadu.</p>

Medical staff said the woman&rsquo;s family put her in the ambulance to take her to hospital as she went into labour pain on Thursday. However, since a wild elephant emerged for the forest and stood across the road, the ambulance could not move ahead on the road in in the Anthiyur Bargur hills.</p>

The ambulance was reported to be stuck for over an hour on the road as the elephant refused to budge.</p>
<p>
Meanwhile, the woman developed pain and the team in the ambulance helped the woman give birth to a baby boy in the ambulance itself.</p>
<p>
A few minutes after the baby was born, the beast left and the medical staff admitted the woman and the baby to a rural health centre. They are both reported to be in good health.</p>
