India Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Coastal Karnataka on 1st June and over Kerala during 1st to 5th June in its weather bulletin issued today.
It has also forecast widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over Kerala, Coastal & South Interior Karnataka and scattered rainfall over Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh during the next 5 days.
Besides, the IMD bulletin predicts:
*Rainfall along with thunderstorm activity likely to continue over Northwest India during next 24 hours and decrease thereafter.
*Heat wave conditions likely over Bihar and West Bengal & Sikkim during next 5 days.
*Southwest Monsoon has advanced further into the South Arabian Sea and some more parts of Bay of Bengal and conditions are favourable for it to move ahead during the next 48 hours.
