Watch: Morocco player’s ‘panenka’ goal that knocked Spain out of FIFA World Cup

Morocco right-back Achraf Hakimi sealed the victory for his team with a ‘panenka’  that beat Spain’s goalkeeper in the shootout and made the score 3-0. Earlier the match had ended in a goalless draw.

The panenka is a penalty in which the ball is gently chipped ( sent high into the air for a short distance) into the goal after the goalkeeper has dived to one side of the goal as he has been tricked into believing that the ball will be kicked in that direction.

The Morocco goalkeeper Yassine Bounou in outstanding performance made three saves in the shootout which to help his team secure a 3-0 win and enter the quarter-finals of a World Cup for the first time ever.
