India women handed Australia their first defeat of the year across all formats as they romped home in a thrilling Super Over finish at the DY Patil Stadium Navi Mumbai on Sunday night to level the five-game T20 series at one-all.
Batting first, Australia made 187 for the loss of just one wicket from their 20 overs with both Beth Mooney and Tahlia McGrath scoring unbeaten half-centuries.
Smriti Mandhana then scored a quickfire 79 off 49 balls as Richa Ghosh (26 not out off 13) hit a four off the last delivery to level the scores.
The 45,000-plus strong crowd was then treated to a thrilling Super Over, with the hosts scoring 20 runs off Heather Graham.
