Watch: Dry riverbed springs back to life as monsoon rains arrive

Indian Forest Service officer Praveen Kaswan has shared a video showing the fascinating sight of a dry riverbed suddenly coming to life as the monsoon rains upstream bring water back to the seasonal river that had gone dry during the summer.

While sharing nature’s marvel on the video, Kaswan wrote, “This is how rivers are made. Forest is the mother of river. Today morning at 6 AM. Foot patrolling with team.” The IFS officer is referring to the fact that forests lead to more rain and water flows into rivers.

His team members can be seen running off the dry riverbed to avoid getting wet as the water suddenly reaches downstream to the point where they are patrolling amid a forest area.
