The video clip was shot late on Monday night. In view of the situation, the Jodhpur district collector declared a holiday in schools on Tuesday.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla informed that 5 people, including 4 children, died in rain-related incidents and expressed condolences.
"In Jodhpur (Rajasthan) due to heavy rains, the death of five people including four children is very sad. Praying to God to grant peace to the departed souls. My condolences to the bereaved families. Om Shanti," tweeted Mr Birla.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) had on Monday forecast intense rainfall in Rajasthan due to a low-pressure area lying over the southwest region of the state and its neighbourhood. This has caused a cyclonic circulation extending up to mid-tropospheric levels.
Increased rainfall is also predicted in the northern part of India.
