Villagers Reunite Jungle Cat Cubs With Their Mother

<p>
<strong>Known for sharing interesting and informative posts on wildlife, jungle and farming, Indian Forest Service officer, Parveen Kaswan, posted a heart-warming series of tweets on his handle reflecting how villagers helped officials to rescue and reunite jungle cat cubs with their mother.</strong></p>
<p>
On Wednesday Kaswan posted a clip from the rescue operation of five cubs from a farm and as is his norm he did not share the location and name of the place in order to avoid undue human interference.</p>
<p>
Known as Felis chaus, the Jungle Cat (Felis chaus) according to the IFS officer is a protected species.</p>
<p>
In his tweet he wrote: “And all the five jungle cat cubs were saved. Found by farmers during harvesting in a field.” The accompanying video shows the face of the cute cubs while one also sees them lying on the field and locals and farmers pitching in to make arrangements to protect and make the cubs safe.</p>

The officer continued to share more information and said that on realising that the cubs won’t survive as they were too small the villagers all came to a decision to help them unite with their mother. For this land on which the cubs were found had to be cordoned off and harvesting operation stopped, and what is really touching is that the villagers agreed willingly!</p>

With harvest halting by 2 p.m. the location was made out of bounds and remained undisturbed for the remaining part of the day and night.</p>
<p>
With camera traps installed in various spots, the villagers in tandem with the rescue team kept constant vigil at the location.</p>

What happened at night gave a great relief to the officials and the locals. Kaswan shared an image of the mother – who duly turned up in the dark – and took her babies home to the forest. The comment on IFS officer’s reads: “She started this process in evening and by middle of the night shifted all her cubs to the forest. Without any disturbance.”</p>
<p>
Giving the entire incident a touch of humour, Kaswan concluded with a funny note stating that the “mother did some overtime but shifted all the cubs to forest”.</p>
<p>
The series of tweets was very well received by netizens who praised the effort of the villagers and the rescue team.</p>
