Video: Sure catch converts into a 6 as Pakistan fielders collide in final vs Sri Lanka

In an amazing blunder Pakistan fielders Shadab Khan and Asif Ali collided with each other to convert what seemed to be a certain catch on the boundary into an incredible 6, putting rivals Sri Lanka at a distinct advantage in the final of the Asia Cup at Dubai.

The fiasco took place on the last ball of the penultimate over when Sri Lanka batter Rajapaksa went for a 6 that fell a wee bit short of the boundary at midwicket. However, just as Asif was taking what appeared to be a comfortable catch , Shadab with his eyes glued on the ball bulldozed into him which led to the ball bouncing out of Asif’s hands and going over the ropes for a 6.

Rajapaksa, who was dropped at 54, went on to score an unbeaten 71 off just 45 balls to take Sri Lanka to victory with a total of 171 for six in 20 overs. Rajapaksa came in to bat with his side tottering at 58 for five at one stage and carried the day for Sri Lanka but Pakistan had only themselves to blame for the loss.
