VIDEO: Several children injured as water slide at amusement park breaks and crashes 30 feet down

Several children were injured as a huge water slide in which they were playing at an amusement park broke in half and crashed to the ground.</p>

Video footage of the incident at Indonesia’s Kenjeran Park shows terrified kids falling 30 feet to the concrete floor below while shocked onlookers scream in horror. </p>
<p>
According to Daily Star, of the 16 people who fell from the slide, eight were taken to a nearby hospital, some of them with fractured bones.</p>
<p>
The water park in Surabaya city, reportedly admitted that the accident happened because the ride had worn out and weakened over time. The water park’s most recent maintenance check had been done more than nine months ago.</p>
<p>
The authorities said the slide was “overloaded” with people, too, when the incident took place.</p>
<p>
The accident prompted the deputy mayor of Surabaya city, Armuji, to call for an immediate inspection of other amusement parks in the region to prevent similar accidents from taking place in the future.</p>
