Video: Pilot’s announcement in Punjabi-English mix on Bengaluru-Chandigarh flight is a big hit

The pilot of an IndiGo flight from Begaluru to Chandigarh delighted passengers on board with his in-flight announcement in a Punjabi-English mix that has taken social media by storm.

A video shared on Twitter shows the captain welcoming the passengers on board in English. He said that during the flight, while passengers sitting on the left side would be able to show off their photography skills, people sitting on the right would meanwhile see Hyderabad.

He then switched to Punjabi and said that later, passengers on the left would see Jaipur, while the other side would be able to see Bhopal.

The pilot then adds a touch of humour, saying that people sitting on the aisle seat can only turn left and right and look at each other which had the passengers bursting out in laughter. “Lesson learnt is what? Take a window seat,” the captain jokingly remarks.

He then went on to give a special mention to all passengers from the defence and  paramilitary forces on board the flight and rounded off the talk by requesting the passengers to keep their masks on and remain seated until the plane lands in Chandigarh.

“Your luggage is safe. Till the time the doors don’t open, kindly remain seated. Luggage is totally safe with you,” he remarked in lighter vein as passengers normally rush to open the overhead bins.
