Along with the footage, the PM wrote: “Rath Yatra greetings to everyone. As we celebrate this sacred occasion, may the divine journey of Lord Jagannath fill our lives with health, happiness and spiritual enrichment.”
Usually celebrated in June and July, the Yatra starts when Lord Jagannath and his elder brother, Lord Balabhadra and younger sister Devi Subhadra give darshan to the public in raths and visit Gundicha Temple. They stay in Gundicha Temple for nine days.
Lakhs of devotees pull the three majestic chariots that are parked in front of the Singha Dwar of Jagannath Temple.
