This Amritha species of banana tree belongs to Anala Sudershan who lives in Vakatippa village located in East Godavari’s Kothapally Mandal in Andhra Pradesh. It has 140 fruits and weighs 60 kilograms and hence was named ‘Baahubali’ by the villagers.

The banana plant of this species was given to Sudershan by his daughter who stays in Bengaluru. On sowing it, he reaped good production of the fruit and the ‘Baahubali’ stem was a surprise bonus.

In the normal course, the length of the stem is between three and five feet but when news of this particular stem being seven feet long reached villagers, people flocked Sudershan’s house to take pictures and selfies with the stem. Many were curious to know how Sudershan managed to grow this plant.
