Tourists have narrow escape as jeep moves too close to tiger in Uttarakhand’s Corbett Park

Incidents of careless tourists disturbing wildlife in the country’s national parks appear to be on the rise giving rise to serious concern. Such careless behaviour also poses a great danger to tourists.

A video, shared by Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer and wildlife enthusiast Susanta Nanda on Twitter, showed a jeep safari getting dangerously close to a tiger at the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand.

The clip shows that the tiger is angry as it has been disturbed. The big cat growls and advances towards the jeep, scaring the tourists. The local guide keeps yelling at the tiger to shoo him away as the beast keeps advancing.

A woman tourist is scared and can be heard telling the driver to reverse the vehicle. While the vehicle reversed, the tiger retreated back into the forest.

“Striped monk gets irritated. What will you do if at every designated hours people crash into your house as their matter of right?” Nanda tweeted.
