The third Test of the ongoing series between India and Australia scheduled to be played in Dharamsala from March 1 to 5 is likely to be shifted to Bengaluru or Visakhapatnam as the relaid outfield in the picturesque Himachal city is not ready for the match, according to a report by PTI news agency.
BCCI curator Taposh Chatterjee is reported to have visited the Dharamala stadium to inspect the pitch and the outfield. He will submit his report to senior BCCI officials to take the final decision.
“There are certain BCCI parameters that one needs to fit in in order to host the match. No competitive game has been played on this ground and also the outfield isn’t ready,” PTI cited a senior BCCI source as saying.
Work is still going on in the outfield which has bald areas and forecast of rain in the next few days has raised concerns that the ongoing work could come to a halt.
